We are excited to announce that the IEEE P2830 standard, targeting shared machine learning, has progressed to the ballot stage of the IEEE Standard Association (SA) Standard Development Process. The standard defines the technique framework and details of trusted execution environment-based shared machine learning, a branch of privacy-preserving computation.

Alibaba initiated the submission, which was drafted in cooperation with representatives from ARPA, Baidu, Lenovo Group, Shanghai Fudata, Zhejiang University, Megvii Technology, and the China Electronic Standardization Institute.

We are excited to announce that ARPA secure computation nodes are now live on Amazon Web Services (AWS) marketplace.

ARPA secure computation nodes on AWS provide an engine for secure computation, thanks to ARPA’s blockchain-based multi-party computation network. Users can process their customized application or circuit upon this in a secure computation method. ARPA mainnet cryptographically enables private smart contracts, unprecedented data-at-use privacy protection, as well as scalable computational sharding.

Dear community and ARPA supporters:

ARPA foundation has conducted a round of quarterly token burn as we mentioned in the earlier roadmap update. 6,000,000 ARPA tokens were burnt in this round, worth about $686,000 at the current price. The amount burnt has been sent to the black hole address shown below.

By the end of this round of token burn, the total amount of ARPA burnt adds up to 137,000,000, accounting for 13.7% of the circulation supply(1,000,000,000), 6.85% of the total supply(2,000,000,000), worth around $16,000,000 USD as of now.

Over the past year and during the first quarter of 2021, ARPA developers and researchers have made tremendous efforts to upgrade our secure computation modules to achieve better performance and usability.

According to our previous business development with other financial companies and data processing entities, the most frequently used applications of privacy-preserving companies are large-scale private set intersection (PSI) and linear regression (LR). With this in mind, we prioritized optimizing these specific applications. After a thorough survey of existing frameworks and implementations, we developed a series of experiments on these tools in our current real-world project settings. …
