ARPA Becomes IEEE Corporate Member
We are honored to announce that ARPA has been accepted as an IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Corporate Member. Other corporate members include: Apple, AT&T, ARM, Ant Financial, Dell, Accenture, China Mobile, China Telecom, Cisco, AMD, Alibaba Group, and other conglomerates and world’s leading companies.
As a corporate member, ARPA was invited by IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) to participate in the development of the IEEE Standard for Technical Framework and Requirements of Shared Machine Learning (IEEE P2830).
The standard aims to standardize the definition of shared machine learning, technical framework, technical process, technical characteristics, security requirements, etc., on an international level.
The IEEE shared Machine learning standard is a standard led by Ant Financial Services Group (formerly known as Alipay, is an affiliate company of the Chinese Alibaba Group. Ant Financial is the highest valued FinTech company in the world, and the world’s most valuable unicorn company, with a valuation of $150bn). Companies and research institutions such as ARPA, Zhejiang Financial Technology Association, Zhejiang Standardization Research Institute, China Electronics Standardization Research Institute, Alibaba, Lenovo, China Mobile, Zhejiang University, and other research institutions participated.
ARPA is a leader in secure multi-party computing technology. With MPC, operations can be performed on encrypted data, making the data available for analysis but remains invisible and secure.
ARPA helps different organizations conduct data sharing, model training and prediction while meeting the requirements of user privacy protection, data security policies and regulations. Shared learning technology has been applied to a variety of business scenarios such as credit, risk control, insurance, and government affairs.
In addition to the successful establishment of an international standard in the IEEE this time, ARPA also participated in the secure multi-party computing standard led by the China Academy of Information and Communication Technology. It is the first and only national standard for secure multi-party computing in China.
ARPA will continue to make contributions to privacy-preserving computing, secure multi-party computing, and privacy-preserving machine learning industry. Together with other pioneers, we will advance the industry and welcome the dawn of privacy!
IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) is an international association of electronic technology and electronics engineers established on January 1, 1963. It is the world’s largest association of technical professionals with more than 423,000 members in over 160 countries around the world. Its objectives are the educational and technical advancement of electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering and allied disciplines. It publishes various magazines, journals, books every year, and also holds at least 300 professional conferences.
IEEE is the world’s most famous and largest non-profit multinational academic organization in the field of electronics, electrical, computer, communications, and automation engineering technology research. For organizations that can set standards. The IEEE has developed 30% of the literature in the fields of electronics, electrical, and computer science worldwide, and it has developed more than 900 current industry standards.
ARPA is committed to providing secure data transfer solutions based on cryptographic operations for businesses and individuals.
The ARPA secure multi-party computing network can be used as a protocol layer to implement privacy computing capabilities for public chains, and it enables developers to build efficient, secure, and data-protected business applications on private smart contracts. Enterprise and personal data can, therefore, be analyzed securely on the ARPA computing network without fear of exposing the data to any third party.
ARPA’s multi-party computing technology supports secure data markets, precision marketing, credit score calculations, and even the safe realization of personal data.
ARPA’s core team is international, with PhDs in cryptography from Tsinghua University, experienced systems engineers from Google, Uber, Amazon, Huawei and Mitsubishi, blockchain experts from the University of Tokyo, AIG, and the World Bank. We also have hired data scientists from CircleUp, as well as financial and data professionals from Fosun and Fidelity Investments.
