Great Road Ahead: A New ARPA Network
On October 17th, ARPA Network posted an article that reflected on what we have done since our inception, explained why we decided to pivot, and gave a brief walkthrough of the new ARPA network. Take a great read of this article and find out what is ahead for ARPA and how we are hitting the road to reshape the foundations of blockchain technology.
ARPA Network Brand New Official Website
On October 17th, ARPA Network released its new official website reflecting our pivots from general-purpose multi-party communication (MPC) to the threshold BLS signature scheme (TSS-BLS), a subfield of MPC cryptography. The new ARPA is a secure computation network that can generate on-chain BLS signatures for various use cases.
ARPA Network can provide a much more affordable substitute for existing inefficient and expensive on-chain operations by serving as the infrastructure of many blockchain applications, such as verifiable random number generator (RNG), secure wallet, decentralized asset custody, cross-chain bridge, and more.

ARPA Network Brand New Whitepaper
On October 17th, ARPA Network released its new whitepaper. The whitepaper first formalizes the security and communication model of the ARPA network tailored to blockchains. It then provides a detailed explanation of the threshold BLS signature scheme and system design. Finally, it presents the design of a distributed random number generator based on the ARPA network to show how ARPA’s service empowers users to build blockchain applications.
ARPA adopts the threshold BLS signature for a robust system design that meets the need for decentralization, flexibility, verifiability, and high availability.

ARPA Network’s Discord Launch
On October 15th, ARPA Network launched its discord server to provide technical support, project updates, and general ARPA conversations for our community.
We welcome developers, cryptographers, and blockchain enthusiasts to join our discussion at https://dsc.gg/arpa-network.
Behind the ARPA Network: A Threshold Signature System Putting TSS-BLS to Work
On October 13th, ARPA Network posted an educational article on the Threshold BLS Signature Scheme. The article first introduces the threshold signature schemes (TSS) and Boneh-Lynn-Schacham (BLS) signature, then elaborates on what we see in the threshold BLS scheme (TSS-BLS) and the effort we made to adapt the TSS-BLS for blockchain. Finally, it provides details about what users can do with ARPA Network.

About ARPA
ARPA Network (ARPA) is a decentralized secure computation network built to improve the fairness, security, and privacy of blockchains. ARPA threshold BLS signature network serves as the infrastructure of verifiable Random Number Generator (RNG), secure wallet, cross-chain bridge, and decentralized custody across multiple blockchains.
ARPA was previously known as ARPA Chain, a privacy-preserving Multi-party Computation (MPC) network founded in 2018. ARPA Mainnet has completed over 224,000 computation tasks in the past years. Our experience in MPC and other cryptography laid the foundation for our innovative threshold BLS signature schemes (TSS-BLS) system design and led us to today’s ARPA Network.
Randcast, a verifiable Random Number Generator (RNG), is the first application that leverages ARPA as infrastructure. Randcast offers a cryptographically generated random source with superior security and low cost compared to other solutions. Metaverse, game, lottery, NFT minting and whitelisting, key generation, and blockchain validator task distribution can benefit from Randcast’s tamper-proof randomness.
