ARPA x AWS | Bring Mass Adoption To Privacy-Preserving Computation
We are excited to announce that ARPA secure computation nodes are now live on Amazon Web Services (AWS) marketplace.
ARPA secure computation nodes on AWS provide an engine for secure computation, thanks to ARPA’s blockchain-based multi-party computation network. Users can process their customized application or circuit upon this in a secure computation method. ARPA mainnet cryptographically enables private smart contracts, unprecedented data-at-use privacy protection, as well as scalable computational sharding.
By deploying our one-click full-functionality computation node on AWS, users can process their customized applications or circuits in a secure computation method. The listed product allows users to set up private computation locally and run a network across continents.
More features of the computation node will be released, including autonomous networking, a more easy-to-use programming language, and profiting from providing computation power by accessing ARPA mainnet.
We recommend users deploy the computation node on an instance with at least 4GB memory, which can handle a medium-complexity task.
“This is truly a remarkable milestone,” says ARPA’s cofounder and CEO Felix Xu, “individuals and businesses who have secure computation needs can now easily take advantage of this amazing technology, and actually conduct secure computation using ARPA multi-party computation, empowered by Amazon Web Services. This will be a great first step to bring mass adoption to privacy-preserving computation.”
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform, offering over 200 fully-featured services from data centers globally. Millions of customers — including the fastest-growing startups, largest enterprises, and leading government agencies — are using AWS to lower costs, become more agile, and innovate faster.
Gartner Research positions AWS in the Leaders quadrant of the new 2020 Magic Quadrant for Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Services (CIPS). In the context of this Magic Quadrant, CIPS is defined as “standardized, highly automated offerings, in which integrated platform services complement infrastructure resources.”
AWS also has the deepest functionality within its services. For example, AWS offers the widest variety of purpose-built databases for different types of applications so users can choose the right tool for the job to get the best cost and performance.

ARPA is a blockchain-based solution for privacy-preserving computation, enabled by Multi-Party Computation (“MPC”). Founded in April 2018, the goal of ARPA is to separate data utility from ownership and enable data renting. ARPA’s MPC protocol creates ways for multiple entities to collaboratively analyze data and extract data synergies while keeping each party’s data input private and secure. ARPA allows secret sharing of private data, and the correctness of computation is verifiable using information-theoretic Message Authentication Code (MAC).
Developers can build privacy-preserving dApps on blockchains compatible with ARPA. Some immediate use cases include: credit anti-fraud, secure data wallet, precision marketing, joint AI model training, key management systems, etc. For example, banks using the ARPA network can share their credit blacklist for risk management purposes without exposing their customer data or privacy.
Team members have worked at leading institutions such as Google, Amazon, Huawei, Fosun, Tsinghua University, Fidelity Investments. ARPA is currently assisting the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology in setting the national standard for secure multi-party computation. ARPA is a corporate member of MPC Alliance and IEEE and is in partnership with fortune 500 companies to implement proofs-of-concept and MPC products. In 2019, ARPA was named the Top 10 most innovative blockchain companies in China by China Enterprise News and China Software Industry Association.
