Tutorial: How To Stake ARPA in the Community Pool
Introduction
This tutorial is designed to guide you through the process of staking your ARPA tokens in the ARPA community pool. By staking ARPA, you can earn rewards and contribute actively to the security and integrity of the ecosystem. No minimum holding is required for community members.
Prerequisites
ARPA Tokens: Hold your ARPA tokens on the Ethereum mainnet.
ETH: Have a sufficient amount of ETH in your wallet to pay for Ethereum transaction fees.
Supported Wallet: A wallet compatible with ARPA and Ethereum, such as MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, or WalletConnect.
Note: These tutorials are based on the Sepolia testnet and are for demonstration purposes only. While it accurately showcases the staking process on the Ethereum mainnet, it is worth noting that the specific staking parameters and gas fees displayed in the screenshots below may vary from the mainnet implementation of ARPA Staking v0.1. In this tutorial, we will demonstrate the process of staking ARPA using a MetaMask wallet.
Detailed Guide (Using MetaMask)
1. Visit the ARPA Staking portal
Double-check the URL and ensure you are visiting the official ARPA Staking portal: http://staking.arpanetwork.io/.
2. Click “Connect Wallet”
Click the “Connect Wallet” button at the top right of the webpage.
3. Select your wallet and choose your wallet account
Select the Web3 wallet that stores your ARPA tokens and ETH. We’ll be using MetaMask for this guide.
After connecting, your wallet address should appear in the top right corner of the webpage.
4. Click on “Stake Now” or click the “Stake” tab next to “Overview”
This will take you to the staking interface.
Or
5. Enter your Staking Amount
Specify the amount of ARPA tokens you want to stake. Remember, you cannot stake more tokens than you have in your wallet or more than the amount indicated as “Available.”
Please be mindful that there are personal and community pool caps in place:
- Personal Cap: The maximum staking amount per address is set at 2,500,000 ARPA.
- Community Pool Cap: At launch, the community pool cap is 50,000,000 ARPA. This cap will be increased by 10,000,000 ARPA every month for the first six months.
At this point, you’ll need to approve a spending cap for ARPA staking in your wallet. Only enter a number that you’re comfortable with ARPA staking now or in the future. You can always increase the spending cap later.
Validate the spending cap in your wallet and click “Approve.” With your spending cap approved, you are all set to stake your ARPA.
The “Approve” button on the staking interface will now switch to “Stake.”
6. Confirm the transaction
A window from your Web3 wallet will pop up, asking for your approval to proceed with the transaction. Check and ensure you’re comfortable with the estimated ETH amount for network transaction fees. Confirm the transaction in your wallet.
7. Wait for the transaction confirmation
Once you see the “Stake processing” status on the screen, it means your transaction is now pending network confirmation. The confirmation time will depend on network traffic and gas prices.
8. You did it!
If you see a page similar to the screenshot below, congratulations! You have successfully staked your ARPA in Staking v0.1. Check “In Pool” in the “Detailed View” to confirm your staking balance and “Claimable” for your staking rewards.
9. Claim your rewards
To claim your rewards, navigate to the “Claim” tab. This will prompt a confirmation action in your wallet. It’s important to note that when claiming, you will be claiming the full amount displayed. This amount includes both your earned rewards and any previously unstaked amount that has completed the unlocking period. Simply confirm to secure your well-deserved rewards.
10. Unstake your ARPA
If you wish to unstake your ARPA, visit the “Unstake” tab. Enter the amount of ARPA you want to unstake, then confirm this action in your wallet. It’s important to note that there is a 14-day period to unlock your ARPA from the staking portal once you have initiated the unstake action. You can view the unlocking amount and the remaining unlock time in the “Unlocking” section under the “Detailed View”.
Congratulations on mastering ARPA staking! You are now fully equipped to participate, claim rewards, and unstake as you see fit. Happy staking!

About ARPA
ARPA Network (ARPA) is a decentralized secure computation network built to improve the fairness, security, and privacy of blockchains. ARPA threshold BLS signature network serves as the infrastructure of verifiable Random Number Generator (RNG), secure wallet, cross-chain bridge, and decentralized custody across multiple blockchains.
ARPA was previously known as ARPA Chain, a privacy-preserving Multi-party Computation (MPC) network founded in 2018. ARPA Mainnet has completed over 224,000 computation tasks in the past years. Our experience in MPC and other cryptography laid the foundation for our innovative threshold BLS signature schemes (TSS-BLS) system design and led us to today’s ARPA Network.
Randcast, a verifiable Random Number Generator (RNG), is the first application that leverages ARPA as infrastructure. Randcast offers a cryptographically generated random source with superior security and low cost compared to other solutions. Metaverse, game, lottery, NFT minting and whitelisting, key generation, and blockchain validator task distribution can benefit from Randcast’s tamper-proof randomness.
