The current so-called “Metaverse” is not what it set out to be. Things like the slew of closed codebases and databases, centralized virtual worlds generated by tech moguls, and limited game items all run counter to the quintessence of the Metaverse.
As digital natives, we already had a dreamland, the only true Metaverse in our hearts; that is how the internet should be — Web 3.0.
On Web 3.0, the internet is built on the open protocols of Web 1.0 and blockchains; things are naturally decentralized.
